Bradenton Turkey Trot 5 miler. This free race/run/walk starts and finishes at the DeSoto Memorial Park in NW Bradenton. While there is no entry fee, everyone brings a post race snack or drink. Great way to stoke the furnace before the inevitable food coma later in the day.

Gulf Coast Cycle Fest. Starting in East Bradenton, the Cycle Fest offers rides of 15, 30, 63 (metric) or 100 miles (century). This well organized, open-road event, now in it's 19th year, benefits the Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club.

Suncoast Triathlon. The last tri of the year in the Tampa Bay area at Ft. DeSoto park. Can be a chilly start. Cost is $65 to $85 though registration not yet started (as of 5/6/09).

The 5th running/6th Annual Nolhtairt. This backwards triathlon is more of a glorified group training designed to help triathlon wannabees to practice the three disciplines at one time without the stresses of quick transitions of a race. Experienced triathletes also participate for some good training and to provide encouragement for the newbies. From the south end of Coquina Beach (Mapquest: 2650 Gulf Dr. S, Bradenton Beach), we run 3 miles around Longboat pass. When all return, we'll cycle from 13 to 23 miles (all the way to St. Armands Circle), and finally we'll jump in the Gulf for an approximate 1/4 mile swim along the shore in chest deep water (no worries for you non-swimmers!). Afterwards, we'll enjoy grillin' and chillin' under the massive shade trees on the beach. Start time for the "race" is 9:00am. Please RSVP if you plan to come, and plan to bring a side dish and/or dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages. Email Chris at chris@1010wellness.com with number of people racing and number attending. The short, 1/4 mile swim hugs the beach, the 10 mile bike takes your through Fort De Soto park, ranked one of the top-ten beaches in the United States; nine hundred unspoiled acres surround you, and the 3.1 mile run takes you along the beach and running trail. Cost is $65 to $80 (plus 1-day USAT pass of $10 if you're not a member) and limited to 900 spots. Bring the fam' and make a beach day of it!

The Dunedin Beach Sprint Triathlon at Honeymoon Island. The Dunedin Triathlon on Honeymoon Island is an annual swim, bike, run event. It is held at the Honeymoon State Park. The event is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Dunedin. The triathlon was pioneered in 2004 and has been recognized as a great race through one of the most beautiful areas on the West coast of Florida. Cost is $60 through 6/10/09.

Sunset at the Pier Beach Series #1. I think this is a 5K. Takes place at Pier 60 park at Clearwater Beach. Reminds me of Mallory Square in Key West where you can watch performers with a sunset in the background. If we can run 3 miles, enjoy some free entertainment, and find some cheap beer - now that sounds like a good time. Runs are also scheduled for 6/19, 7/24, and 8/7. Bring your camera.

Gulf Coast Triathlon. This is how destination racing is done. A pasta party the night before and an awards party the night after, this is the best triathlon weekend I've ever experienced. Since most of the participants stay in the beach front hotels that are adjacent to all the race activities, the feeling of tri community is awesome! It is a half ironman - no wingin' that. Train hard. And long.

St. Athony's Triathlon. This is the granddaddy of Florida triathlons. A premium quality international distance event attracts age groupers and pros from all across the country. The event sold out in less than a day on 12/1/08, but if you've ever wanted to expeience the buzz of a world class triathlon, come on out.

DeSoto 5K. The run before the parade. Runners – here’s your chance for a unique racing experience with a point to point race along streets lined with thousands of cheering spectators. The De Soto 5K Run is your opportunity to race down the middle of Manatee Avenue, along the parade route, just before the Grand Parade. After the race, awards and refreshments are held in the School Board parking lot, just a short walk to downtown Bradenton to view the parade. Proceeds from the race fund the BRC scholarship program.

Marathon of the Palm Beaches. The 26.2 and 13.1 mile figure eight courses start and finish on the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway near the Meyer Amphitheater in Downtown West Palm Beach. Both course routes run south along the beautiful waterfront to a turnaround in the City of Lake Worth and returns through the historic neighborhood of El Cid to the Half Marathon finish at the Meyer Amphitheatre between Flagler Memorial and Royal Palm bridges. Also a 5K race on Saturday.

Sand Key Triathlon. Sprint distance tri (1/3 mile swim, 11 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) at a beautiful venue in Clearwater Beach, Fla. Registration is $65 before July 15, 2008, and this race is limited to 500 spots and does sell out. Some of the 10:10 crew will likely be staying at a local beach hotel Saturday nite so contact us if you'd like to join the fun.
Athletes for a Cure Triathlon. The inaugural Athletes for a Cure Triathlon will take place at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort near Orlando, Florida on September 21, 2008, to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. $25.00 of each athlete's entry fee will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. All athletes will also have the opportunity to win awards ranging from 2XU race uniforms to a 7 day Cruise by racing in the special Fundraising Division where the race goes to the biggest heart, not the fastest legs. Olympic Distance (Sunday, 9/21), Kids Duathlon (Saturday,9/20).

Christ aCross America Bicycle Mission Tour. In June and July 2007, a group mainly from Tampa, FL will carry the cross from Seattle to Jacksonville by bicycle in a 53-day tour of celebration covering over 3,600 miles. The Tour De Georgia April 19-22. One of the country's premier professional cycling races winds through the hills and mountains of north Georgia. 10:10 Wellness will be hosting a long weekend of events based out the the Alpine village of Helen. More details to come.
St. Anthony's Triathlon April 29. With over 3,800 paricipants, this is the top race in Florida. Olympic distance: swim 1.5K · bike 40K · run 10K.
